First Day of Session 3 Classes!

Despite the morning rain yesterday morning, the weather cleared up in the afternoon just in time for waterfront rules and a late afternoon free swimming and boating session. After dinner everyone threw on their best Western attire and headed to the Barn Dance, which featured the revival of the hay rides as the means of returning the campers to their cabins after the dance. The Barn Dance included the traditional opening game called the Big Wind Blows as well as the Macarena, Musical Chairs, the Cupid Shuffle, and the Cotton Eye Joe.

This morning dawned cold but bright as campers headed out for their first full day of activities. After breakfast we had our assembly, during which three staff members presented the metaphysical theme for the summer to the campers. After Kapers, campers headed out to activities such as horseback riding, swimming, Frisbee, Arts & Crafts, mountain biking, and Eagle Rock. Campers started gimp projects in Arts & Crafts, got familiar with the lake in swimming, and learned both the forehand and backhand throws in Frisbee. We’re expecting a beautiful afternoon for classes, and tonight we are excited about having outdoor picnic supper as well as the Council Fire.
