For me, Crystal Lake Camps is a home away from home – and I’m sure most of you would say the same. As someone who has been a camper and staff member for over twelve years I’ve become quite attached to the CLC family — and everything in Hughesville, PA, for that matter. Unfortunately, when I started college my busier schedule caused me to miss out on the past two summers, which is why I’m so grateful for Winter Camp. I, too, struggled with making the “right” New Year’s plans, but when I stopped trying to decide everything for myself and let God lead the way, the right decision was obvious.
The lack of snow did not even come close to putting a damper on our Winter Camp activities. We all had a blast playing games, cooking TONS of food, setting off fireworks and of course perfecting our dance moves with the help of Just Dance for Wii. (For your entertainment Jasmine has video evidence of the dancing, below.)
I made sure to explore the property too. I ran around the lake, to Whipple Mill, and over to Birch Springs. The scenery was absolutely breathtaking!
It is always such a refreshing experience to spend time with my CLC family. Their unconditional love and support is a powerful presence. It is such a blessing to be a part of CLC and be able to visit throughout the year. For anyone with schedules that conflict with the summer, it’s great to know that no matter how long you’ve been away from camp you will always be welcomed with open arms.
