Everyone was ready, armed with hammers and gloves in hand. We made a ceremonial Eders ice cream run to kick off the work, and we were READY to get our hands dirty. Bring on Spring Break 2011! But then…
Snow. Lots of snow. And it landed on Weape, our worksite. The nerve!
Snow in late March isn’t the usual at CLC, but it did not dampen our spring break spirits one bit.
Weape’s addition would just have to wait for warmer weather. So what’s Plan B? Beautifying camp in other, more indoor ways! From re-painting Lower Nosoni/Weape’s bathroom, making a fire exit in Whipple Mill, saving and re-painting the CLC sign at the gate, caulking Norman’s bathrooms, to putting up a new ceiling on the indoor stage – we were busy.
Our Amish friends came to help too and we showed them what sledding on the ski slopes is like (see epic video below). Other highlights of the week included Monopoly ’till 3 A.M, a truly awe-some Wednesday night testimony meeting in the Lodge, and even some cross-country skiing!
It was an incredibly productive and fun week, and we want to give a big THANK YOU to everyone who came out: Casey Davis, Marissa Bunting, Laurie, David and Kendra Scott, Amy and Jeff Ward-Bailey, Tom Reed, and our Amish friends! Let’s do it again next year!
