So sorry for the delay in posting! We know how much you appreciate hearing what’s been happening at camp, and apologize for the recent radio silence. It’s been a crazy-busy past week, including Little Olympics, a joint testimony meeting (after which a camper new to CLC asked if all of our testimony meetings are that great!), Talent Show, Vespers, and getting packed up for overnights. We’ve been having so much fun!
Overnights went out this past Saturday and cabins returned today looking worn out but joyful (and grateful for the promise of hot showers). We’ve had several epic thunderstorms this past week, but we are thankful the weather was relatively peaceful during overnights. It was wonderful to hear how the one afternoon of rain they experienced out on the trail could not even dampen their enjoyment of camping out; they simply devised creative ways of entertaining themselves underneath their tarps. Over yet another Thanksgiving dinner this evening, one camper recounted how that had been her favorite part of her cabin’s overnight and that she and her cabin mates laughed so much (although she couldn’t begin to explain what had been so funny in the first place). 🙂
This coming week we have several more days of classes, as well as separate boys’ and girls’ camp testimony meetings, Silent Council Fire, and a Hawaiian luau themed Banquet. So much goodness.
It’s hard to believe that the summer is winding down already! It feels as though the first day of 1st Session was only yesterday, when in reality we are in our second week of 3rd Session. Just a few more days until 3rd Session campers pack up and head home… 🙁 We’ll miss them all terribly!
Please check out our SmugMug site for pictures recently uploaded from 3rd Session! You can view them at http://crystallakecamps.smugmug.com/. There are some simply stunning shots that depict so much bliss 🙂
