Overnight Excitement

With overnights just around the corner, the campers are enjoying a regular day of classes. All of the cabins will be heading out on hikes and adventures tomorrow afternoon to return Saturday afternoon. The LTs also left today for a 6 day overnight. Cabins were fortunate enough to have the wonderful workers from the Worker Program join them for cookouts last night. Dinner was “hobo-style” where all that was required was a fork and a water bottle. Each cabin gathered around their designated campfire where they heated a compilation of chicken, rice, peas, and corn in a sheet of tinfoil. Desert was banana boats, a deliciously gooey treat of bananas filled with chocolate and marshmallows. We hear that the deserts for the upcoming overnight could possibly even top these savory treats. This morning, the Archery class continued to work on achieving Jr. Bowman, Bowman, and Yeoman status. Arts and crafts will wrap up their dream catcher project this afternoon and the Horseback Riding Class took their first trail ride this morning. Canoeing class can’t seem to catch a break from the daily 3rd period drizzle, but Apples to Apples never gets old. Tonight will be the joint testimony meeting and many campers already have many great things to share. There will be much much more to report after the overnights we’ve been anxiously awaiting, but until then, wish us a “bon voyage!”
