In Miscellany, Mary Baker Eddy writes: âWhat is gratitude but a powerful camera obscura, a thing focusing light where love, memory, and all within the human heart is present to manifest light.â I truly love this passage, and it speaks to why Thanksgiving is my favorite holiday. Whether spending Thanksgiving day with family, friends, loved ones, or strangers, this day represents love and gratitude for good. It is a day to toss aside worries, stresses, and disputes and focus on the present; to share joy with others. It is a demonstration of togetherness and harmony.
Thanksgiving fosters gratitude and the spirit of giving, and leads into the Holiday Season. Winter Camp is a great opportunity to bring in the New Year at Crystal Lake with friends and family; to âmanifest lightâ with one another. Our metaphysical theme for this yearâs Winter Camp comes from Psalms 35: 9 my: âMy soul shall be joyful in the Lord: it shall rejoice in his salvation.â Rejoicing with a sense of gratitude is the perfect foundation for a new year, and we would love to build on that foundation together. If you are interested in coming to camp for Winter Camp, you can register online.
Canât make it to Winter Camp? There are many ways to âgiveâ camp this Holiday Season. We have set up an online camp store where CLC apparel can be purchased and given as gifts. Free shipping for camp store items is available to those who have registered for summer camp and have paid their deposit. This offer lasts through January 1. Crystal Lake Camps also has an Amazon Smile account, where you can shop normally but by using our code, Amazon will donate a percentage of your purchase directly to CLC! Likewise, Giving Tuesday is coming up soon–this globally recognized day is all about giving back. Help us celebrate Giving Tuesday by donating to camp! Your generosity is greatly appreciated.Â
